Originally built in 1906 as part of Picton’s United Church to house the clergy, our property underwent an extensive multi-year renovation in the early 2000s, led by proprietors Sian and Dave Fitzpatrick. Their vision breathed new life into the historic limestone walls, infusing them with contemporary sophistication while preserving the property’s inherent character.

Since it’s grand opening in 2012, The Manse has been a cherished retreat for travelers from around the globe, many returning to bask in its charms time and time again. In 2023, a new chapter began as Max Dallamore and Megan Fitzpatrick took the reins, ushering in a fresh era of hospitality. As a fully family-owned and operated business, we’re more than just a boutique hotel – we’re a welcoming haven where guests are greeted like old friends, invited to share in the warmth and comfort of our space.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the rich tapestry of our history woven into every corner, from the meticulously restored architecture to the warm hospitality that permeates every interaction. We can’t wait to welcome you into our family and share the magic of The Manse with you.

A note from our Founder, Sian Fitzpatrick

“Shortly after purchasing The Manse from the United Church, I embarked on a journey of restoration and transformation, breathing new life into this historic gem. It was a labor of love to preserve the integrity of the past while crafting a welcoming haven for travelers. I’ve always been drawn to Gothic architecture, and the early English style of the adjacent clock and bell tower inspired the detailed craftsmanship through every design component. The parsonage was in rough condition when originally purchased as it had not been used for some years. It was important for me to honour the beauty of the full exterior of the building, which was originally only built with the front side in the spectacular limestone. It became my challenge to make the back of The Manse as beautiful as the front. We now feature an impressive porch and striking porte couchere. The interior of the structure was laid bare, structural walls were corrected, the basement was floor was dropped by a foot, new dormers were added on the third floor, and each room was meticulously re-built to modern standards.

Prince Edward County's burgeoning wine region provided the perfect backdrop for our vision to unfold, creating a destination where history, hospitality, and the beauty of the land converge."

What Our Guests Say

“I just spent two nights at The Manse Boutique Inn in Picton, Ontario. I can’t say enough about how beautiful the place is, how delicious the food was, how royally we were treated by real people, and the wonderful relationships we built with its Management Team — Megan Fitzpatrick and Executive Chef Max Dallamore. Very very highly recommended. Planning to again real soon. They follow in the steps of Will Guidara’s book, “Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect.”
